All-star cast in zombie comedy “LIFE AFTER BETH”

A hot lineup of funnymen and women topline the undead comedy LIFE AFTER BETH, a sort of lighter version of RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD III.

Screen Daily reports that genre specialist XYZ Films is beginning international sales on the movie at this month’s Toronto International Film Festival. The directorial debut of scripter Jeff Baena (who co-wrote David O. Russell’s I HEART HUCKABEES), LIFE AFTER BETH stars CHRONICLE’s Dane DeHaan as Zach, a young man who tries to continue his relationship with his girlfriend Beth (Aubrey Plaza, pictured above) even after she dies and comes back as a zombie, only for the situation to take a turn for the (even) worse. The cast also includes Molly Shannon and DARK WATER’s John C. Reilly as Beth’s parents, Cheryl Hines and ALIENS’ Paul Reiser as Zach’s folks, Anna Kendrick, Matthew Gray Gubler and Paul Weitz. Shooting recently wrapped in Los Angeles.
