Not long after NBC revealed plans for an updated Paris-set miniseries of ROSEMARY’S BABY, word comes another all-timer (the all-timer, in fact) will see re-adaptation on television.
Deadline is reporting Morgan Creek is going out to networks with a new take on William Peter Blatty’s THE EXORCIST. Writer Jeremy Slater, whose work will be seen in the upcoming FANTASTIC FOUR reboot, as well as the medical student horror story REAWAKENING, is penning.
Word of a television show also popped up last year with MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE’s Sean Durkin reportedly attached. This is apparently not related.
Of course, William Friedkin’s 1973 classic celebrates a 40th anniversary this year, and is doing so by coming to Blu-ray yet again in a very full package this fall. The original novel was also turned into a well-reviewed play in Los Angeles last summer.
