Announcement: “THE GIRLS IN THE BACK ROW” Join the FANGORIA Podcast Network; 2016 Open Submissions Begin!Books/Art/Culture,Features/Interviews,Home,News Fangoria Staff
With the FANGORIA Podcast Network now entering its fifth month of existence, the rapidly growing assembly of free, diverse programming has been pulling in new listeners by the day. With a roster that includes MONSTER PARTY, WE’LL SEE YOU IN HELL with Joe DeRosa and Patrick Walsh, THE HORROR SHOW, THE RANTS MACABRE, Clay McLeod Chapman’s THE PUMPKIN PIE SHOW, SPLAT CHAT with “Cineman” Steve Craig and the on-hiatus interview show BLOOD LUST with Bailey Jay, there appears to be something for every horror hound in the FANGORIA Podcast Network. However, FANGORIA is beyond excited to announce our latest acquisition, as THE GIRLS IN THE BACK ROW with Kate & Tab will bring it’s feminine edge to the FANGORIA Podcast Network!
“While I’m extremely proud of the podcasts we had assembled here at FANGORIA, I would be the first to admit that the network was lacking in terms of an active female perspective on the horror genre,” said FANGORIA Podcast Network curator Ken Hanley. “And though there are many exceptional women working in the world of horror podcasts, including the Horror Honeys, The Women in Caskets and FANGO’s former kick-ass marketing rep Rebekah McKendry, all of whom I’d love to see participate in our network in the future, there was something about THE GIRLS IN THE BACK ROW that captured a voice and attitude evocative of the FANGORIA audience. Intelligent yet humble, honest and passionate, there’s little doubt that FANGORIA readers will want to spend time every week with hosts Kate & Tab.”
For those unfamiliar, here’s the official synopsis for THE GIRLS IN THE BACK ROW…
THE GIRLS IN THE BACK ROW is a horror movie review & discussion podcast brought to you by the kind of girls your mother warned you about! On THE GIRLS IN THE BACK ROW, hosts Kate and Tab will help each other fill the holes in their “Watched” lists and discuss the results! Regular episodes will include a short spoiler-free review and the new watcher’s first impressions, followed by an in-depth discussion of the movie. And once a month, Kate and Tab also feature a compare/contrast episode covering two or more thematically similar movies.
THE GIRLS IN THE BACK ROW joins the FANGORIA Podcast Network this week and will offer free episodes on a weekly basis. You can listen to past episodes of the show on multiple podcast platforms, including iTunes, Stitcher and via RSS Feed for third party podcast applications. You can also visit the show’s official website HERE, and you can also follow the show on Facebook and Twitter.
Furthermore, FANGORIA is announcing that the FANGORIA Podcast Network is once again holding open submissions for our January 2016 acquisitions! The selected programs must not be currently under contract at another Podcast Network, and must be willing to release new episodes weekly. If you are interested in having your podcast join the ranks of those listed above, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with an RSS link to your show as well as the official synopsis of your show and a recommended episode from the past 60 days.
