“BLOOD AND GUTS”: Rick Baker, Monster Maker

The Nerdist and FANGORIA’s BLOOD AND GUTS is wrapping up its second season, and we’ve certainly saved the best for last. In our finale, host Scott Ian visits with a true legend and one of the greatest living makeup FX artists, multiple Academy Award-winning Rick Baker.

A mainstay in Fango since its inception, Baker is responsible for everything from gory frights to the best werewolf transformation of all time to simply stunning work in HARRY AND THE HENDERSONS and The Grinch. Here, he takes BLOOD AND GUTS on a breathtaking tour of his display room, as well as a special visit to Bob Burns’ basement, which also houses some of the artists’ greatest and earliest achievements. Baker lets us in on his paintings—many beautiful renderings of classic monsters—talks his influences, and so much more.

Keep up with BLOOD AND GUTS, by following the official Facebook and Twitter, and subscribing to the official Nerdist YouTube channel.
