Date set for Nicolas Cage to “PAY THE GHOST”

Nicolas Cage returns to the realm of supernatural horror with PAY THE GHOST, and word has come down on when audiences will be able to experience it.

RLJ Entertainment has announced that it has picked up U.S. rights to PAY THE GHOST, directed by LAST EXIT TO BROOKLYN’s Uli Edel from a script by TIMBER FALLS’ Dan Kay, and will release it to theaters and on VOD September 23. The movie also stars THE WALKING DEAD’s Sarah Wayne Callies and Lyriq Bent from SAW II-IV; here’s the synopsis: “One year after his young son disappeared during a Halloween carnival, Mike Cole [Cage] is haunted by eerie images and terrifying messages he can’t explain. Together with his estranged wife [Callies], he will stop at nothing to unravel the mystery and find their son—and, in doing so, he unearths a legend that refuses to remain buried in the past.”

“The intense action and scares in PAY THE GHOST will have audiences on the edge of their seats,” says RLJ’s Mark Ward. “We can’t wait to get the film into theaters this September.”
