Final “APES” Trailer: In Which Caesar Fires A Machine Gun From Atop a Horse

Again, there are many reasons to look forward to DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. Its unexpectedly good predecessor, for one. The rest are laid out beautifully in this final theatrical trailer. An epic scope from director Matt Reeves, an empathetic community of stunningly realized apes, for two and three. Fourth, the tease of but one tense, playful-turned vicious ape encounter. But really, above all, remains Caesar, sitting gallantly atop a horse and bursting through fire while unloading a machine gun. Feast your eyes, below.

Starring Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Keri Russell and Gary Oldman, DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES takes place years after the Simian Flu has wiped out much of humanity. Here, midst a post-apocalypse, the peace between apes and man is uneasy at best and both sides contain proponents of war.

DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is out July 11, 2014.
