Dread-Fueled Teaser for Turkish Horror, “MUSKA”
News Samuel ZimmermanTurkey seems poised to make a breakthrough on the radar of international horror fans. From Can Evrenol, whose FrightFest ad caused a stir, and whose cops vs. occult short BASKIN is being crafted into a feature; to the DABBE series that’s largely inspired by popular American horror; to the Anatolia folklore-informed GULYABANI, there’s a rise of hopefully thrilling genre voices. The latest to pique interest is an effective, eerie teaser for Özkan Çelik’s MUSKA (AMULET).
While a synopsis is difficult to find, MUSKA’s first trailer does plenty to excite. It’s intimate, Gothic and suspenseful, and could be a herald of good things to come.
