DVDetails, Art: Chilean Shocker “HIDDEN IN THE WOODS”

Second in a slate of international horror that boutique distributor Artsploitation Films is spreading across DVD this fall, Patricio Valladeres’ HIDDEN IN THE WOODS is now dated with fantastic art for a savage DVD debut.

Apparently based on a true story (and currently being remade by Valladeres with Michael Biehn), HIDDEN IN THE WOODS takes place deep in the Chilean countryside, where “Ana and Anny live with their deformed brother and are subject to their father’s perverse and sadistic whims. After a dispute with the police leaves a wake of death and mutilation, they flee and find refuge in a remote cabin hidden from society. Meanwhile, a crime lord, convinced they have stolen the massive stash of drugs their father was hiding, sends a violent pack of thugs to find them.”

Releasing September 17, HIDDEN IN THE WOODS will be accompanied by a Behind The Scenes Featurette, a look at the film’s Fantasia Film Festival 2012 premiere and an eight-page booklet.
