Edgar Wright planning “real deal” horror with writer Mark Protosevich

Coming off the conclusion to his Cornetto Trilogy—the dense and “only gets better,” THE WORLD’S END—Marvel’s ANT-MAN is clearly next on Edgar Wright’s docket. But what of post-superhero plans? It seems a return to genre, with an aim to be proper horrific, is in order.

Speaking to Mr. Beaks at Ain’t It Cool, OLDBOY screenwriter Mark Protosevich revealed, “…I’m also working on a project with Edgar Wright, and Edgar is just delightful.” When asked what the project is, and how much he could say, the answer was naturally very little. He did however explain, “The one thing I’ll say is that Edgar’s movies have a certain tone, and this one might be a little unexpected because the main thing we’re going for is scary. Smart and scary.”

Considering Wright is masterful and very clearly only progressing, this is undoubtedly something to look forward to whenever it comes to fruition.
