Elisabeth Moss fends off Bertino’s “MONSTERS”

As we eagerly await Bryan Bertino’s delayed MOCKINGBIRD (the already highly anticipated follow-up to his THE STRANGERS), news arrives on this third effort as a director, THERE ARE MONSTERS.

Screen Daily reports MAD MEN and TOP OF THE LAKE’s Elisabeth Moss (pictured above in this summer’s THE ONE I LOVE) will star in the film about a single mother and her daughter, who together are trapped and must fend off a creature. Bertino reteams with MOCKINGBIRD producer Adrienne Biddle. AMERICAN HUSTLE’s Richard Suckle is also producing.

Bertino says, ““I love telling stories about fear – fear of the unknown and fear of the things inside us. Horror can cut through the complexities of life and force us to find something deeper within ourselves. What do we really care about in life? Fear can show us.”
