Exclusive clip: Director talks “THE WITCH,” on disc tomorrow

The year’s most-discussed horror film casts a spell on Blu-ray and DVD tomorrow as Lionsgate Home Entertainment releases THE WITCH to spark the debate anew. See an exclusive excerpt from the discs’ extras after the jump.

In the clip, writer/director Robert Eggers, speaking at a cast/crew panel in Salem, MA, discusses the sources of witchcraft accusations during the movie’s 17th-century time period and how he brought that era to life in the acclaimed independent production. THE WITCH stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Ineson, Katie Dickie, Harvey Scrimshaw, Ellie Grainger, Lucas Dawson and Julian Richings; the synopsis: “New England, 1630: William and Katherine lead a devout Christian life with their five children, homesteading on the edge of an impassible wilderness. When their newborn son mysteriously vanishes and their crops fail, the family begins to turn on one another.” The complete special-features list for the discs is:
