Exclusive Comments: RLJ Entertainment captures Cannibal Western, “BONE TOMAHAWK”

For the past year, FANGORIA has kept a watchful eye on BONE TOMAHAWK, S. Craig Zahler’s cannibal western with a stunningly epic cast that includes Kurt Russell, Patrick Wilson, Richard Jenkins, Matthew Fox, Lili Simmons, David Arquette, Sean Young, Sid Haig, Jamison Newlander, Kathryn Morris and Michael Pare. Now, with the film’s premiere slated for this fall’s FANTASTIC FEST, news has broken that RLJ Entertainment has acquired the Caliber Media-produced film for North American release, and FANGORIA has an exclusive word from TOMAHAWK producer Dallas Sonnier!

“Making BONE TOMAHAWK became more than a labor of love for Caliber and Zahler,” said Sonnier. “It was a mission to prove that we could make an epic and violent Western with a killer cast on an indie budget.  Mark Ward and his colleagues at RLJ have been all over us since before we even got BONE TOMAHAWK into production, and its truly awesome to release the film this fall with people you actually like working with.”

Produced by Sonnier, Jack Heller, and Gregory Zuk of Caliber Media (who also produced RLJ acquisitions DARK WAS THE NIGHT and SOME KIND OF HATE) and executive produced by the Fyzz Facility’s Wayne Marc Godfrey, Robert Jones and David Gilbrey, the deal was negotiated by CAA, UTA, and Caliber on behalf of the filmmakers and Mark Ward and Grace Santos on behalf of RLJ Entertainment. Stay tuned for more on BONE TOMAHAWK as it comes available!
