Exclusive: Death Waltz to Release “MADMAN” Original Soundtrack For The First Time

While the majority of content hitting audiences nowadays is turning towards the digital marketplace, there’s still a devoted and loyal audience for physical products. Whether it be for Blu-rays, action figures or vinyl pressings, the collectors market is still alive and breathing, and now, more obscure titles than ever are getting their time to shine years and years later. And in the case of the 1982 slasher cult classic MADMAN, that spotlights going to last a little longer in 2015, as FANGORIA exclusively learned over the weekend that the beloved synth soundtrack for MADMAN will be released for the very first time via Death Waltz Records!

The announcement came at last Saturday’s screening of MADMAN at the Alamo Drafthouse Yonkers, as producer Gary Sales and composer Stephen Horelick told the audience that the soundtrack will be released via limited edition vinyl, CD and digital platforms in Fall 2015 from the illustrious specialty soundtrack distributor. The deal was also said to be ushered in by Christopher Garetano, the director of THE MONTAUK CHRONICLES who reached out to Death Waltz upon learning that the soundtrack had never previously been available. And for those who have never heard Horelick’s spectacular soundtrack in action, one of the first to be entirely electronically composed, you can check out the film on Blu-ray on May 12th from Vinegar Syndrome. The 2-disc Blu-ray set is currently available for pre-order here, and check back here at FANGORIA.com later in the day for the full MADMAN event report!
