Exclusive: “DRACULA UNTOLD” Blu Clip Explains The History Behind Dracula!

One of this writer’s favorite surprises from 2014 was Gary Shore’s DRACULA UNTOLD, a fantasy adventure spin on the Dracula legend that still kept the legend’s most horrifying aspects in tact. In fact, the film made FANGORIA’s Chainsaw Award nominations as well, earning a nod for Best Wide Release Film for 2014. And now, with the film’s Blu-ray bow on the horizon, Universal Pictures and FANGORIA have teamed up to bring readers an exclusive sneak peek at the disc below!

In this clip from the special features of DRACULA UNTOLD, star Luke Evans, director Gary Shore and more discuss the incorporation of real life history into the fright film, as well as how such a factual basis lent itself to the film as a whole. Obviously, the history behind the DRACULA legend was important to all involved in UNTOLD, so it’s quite fascinating so see what bits of reality sunk into such an epic picture. And for fans of the film, this clip is just a taste of the special features, as Universal’s Blu-ray comes with an alternate opening, deleted scenes, multiple featurettes, a feature-length commentary and much more, which is refreshing considering how many home media discs come barebones nowadays.

DRACULA UNTOLD hits DVD/Blu-ray on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2015. You can pre-order the film here, and you can vote for the film in FANGORIA’s Chainsaw Awards here.
