Exclusive: Jörg Buttgereit’s “SCHRAMM” and “SEX MURDER ART” boxed set Blu-ray details/art

Rounding out its line of hi-def releases showcasing the notorious films of German provocateur Jörg Buttgereit, Cult Epics has a Blu-ray of his serial-killer opus SCHRAMM and the SEX MURDER ART Collector’s Edition six-disc set coming soon. Read on for the exclusive full info and art.

SCHRAMM, a 1993 film by the NEKROMANTIK creator, hits hi-def disc April 12. Opening with serial murderer Lothar Schramm dying in a pool of his own blood, it flashes back through his tortured memories of his exploits as the “Lipstick Killer,” with all the violence and perversion one expects from Buttgereit. The movie will be presented uncut and uncensored in a new director-approved HD transfer from the original 16mm negative, with new DTS-HD MA 5.1 Surround audio. Special features are:

• Audio commentary by Buttgereit and co-scripter Franz Rodenkirchen
• Audio commentary by actors Florian Koemer von Gustorf and Monika M.
• Exclusive introduction by Buttgereit

Retail price is $34.95; there will also be a DVD edition available for $29.95. Also coming on the 12th is SEX MURDER ART, containing the Blu-ray special editions of NEKROMANTIK, NEKROMANTIK 2, DER TODESKING (THE DEATH KING) and SCHRAMM, plus two exclusive soundtrack CDs: NEKROMANTIK & DER TODESKING and NEKROMANTIK 2 & SCHRAMM.
