Exclusive photos: “A GRIM BECOMING”

Genre veteran Lynn Lowry and busy horror actor Bill Oberst Jr. are among the cast of A GRIM BECOMING, a chiller/comedy that just wrapped in western New York. Read on for more details and a few exclusive pics.

GRIMBECOMINGEXCPICSNEWS1Produced by DefTone Pictures Studios, A GRIM BECOMING was directed by Adam R. Steigert from a script he wrote with Janeen Avery, Christopher Brechtel and Mark Mendola. The cast also includes Brandon Williams, Melyssa Jade, Devanny Pinn, Britt Griffith, Jessica Cameron, Michael Sciabarrasi, Melantha Blackthrone, Aryn Fitzgerald, Valerie Lynn Hanna, Patrick Mallette, Mike Sarcinelli and Brechtel. Here’s the synopsis:

“Raphael [Williams], a young and bitter executive, is on the verge of losing a multimillion dollar architectural deal with a large distribution company lead by the awkward Stanford brothers. Raphael suffers a sudden death in his family and has to immediately leave to go to the funeral in his home town of Metzburgh. Seeing this as his big chance to get ahead is Wayne [Griffith], a jealous co-worker who is in competition with Raphael. As Raphael returns to Metzburgh, he experiences a life changing event: witnessing a Grim Reaper taking a soul. This sighting results in Raphael becoming a Reaper and having to explore his own conscience and the lengths he will go to get his own life back. But Death [Sciabarrasi], or as he likes to call himself, ‘Magoo,’ has other plans for the naive young executive.”

DefTone and Steigert are currently in preproduction on a grindhouse homage tentatively titled PUNISHED, based on their BLACK GUY ON A RAMPAGE trilogy of shorts, with Fred Williamson in talks to star. Behind-the-scenes video diaries of A GRIM BECOMING can be seen at Steigert’s YouTube channel.
