Exclusive photos: “HIDDEN IN THE WOODS” remake; original DVD date

Production has gotten underway on HIDDEN IN THE WOODS, Patricio Valladares’ English-language reboot of his Chilean shocker, and we’ve got a bunch of exclusive pics from the set to share, as well as word on when the original will hit U.S. DVD.

Produced by Blanc/Biehn Productions and scripted by Bradley and Kevin Marcus, HIDDEN IN THE WOODS stars Michael Biehn and Jennifer Blanc (also producing with the original’s Valladares and Evelyn Belmar, plus Loris Curci), William Forsythe, Jeannine Kaspar, Electra Avellan, Chris Browning, Mark Burnham, Richard Gunn, Evie Thompson, mixed-martial-arts fighter Krzysztof Soszynski and ALIENS’ Ricco Ross, with makeup FX by Vincent J. Guastini’s V.G.P. Effects & Design Studio. Kaspar and Avellan play Ana and Amy, two sisters with deeply troubled pasts who go on the run from Uncle Costello (Forsythe), a murderous drug lord who believes they know the location of a large hidden stash. Valladares’ original HIDDEN arrives on Stateside disc September 17 from Artsploitation Films, with an anamorphic widescreen transfer and Dolby Digtal 5.1 audio (in Spanish with English subtitles); special features, if any, have yet to be announced. Retail price is $29.95.
