Exclusive pics: Puerto Rican horror “THE CONDEMNED”

A horror film from Puerto Rico is a rare thing, and to mark today’s DVDebut of the country’s supernatural thriller THE CONDEMNED, we’ve got some exclusive stills to share with you, courtesy of filmmaker Roberto Busó-García.

Out on disc from Strand Releasing, THE CONDEMNED was directed by Busó-García from a script he wrote with Danielle Schleif and Luis R. Trelles. The setting is the small town of Rosales, where Ana (Cristina Rodlo) moves back to her old family home with her invalid father, Dr. Puttnam (Axel Anderson). Years ago, he engaged in some questionable research, and when the two settle into the house (which Ana plans to turn into a shrine for Dr. Puttnam), old ghosts start getting stirred up. The widescreen transfer is accompanied on the disc by:

• “Playing With Fire: On the Set” featurette

• “Making THE CONDEMNED” featurette

• Deleted scenes

Retail price is $24.99. Check out the trailer below the photos, and pick up Fango #323 (now on sale) for an interview with Busó-García that’s part of the issue’s special spotlight on Latin American horror.
