Exclusive trailer, release info: All-star slasher satire “SMOTHERED”

Kane Hodder, Bill Moseley and other veterans of the screen psycho trade find themselves on the other side of a murderous situation in SMOTHERED, a sendup of slasher films coming next month. Distributor Indican Pictures gave us the exclusive first look at the latest trailer and details of the release.

Indican opens SMOTHERED in select theaters March 25, followed by DVD/VOD release March 29. Written and directed by John Schneider (the former DUKES OF HAZZARD star), the film stars Fango faves Hodder, Moseley, R.A. Mihailoff (Leatherface in TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE III), Don Shanks (Michael Myers in HALLOWEEN 5 and the killer-Santa double in SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT) and CHRISTINE’s Malcolm Danare, plus cameos by Michael Berryman, John Kassir and Christine the car itself, plus Brea Grant and Amy Brassette. The synopsis: “When a bunch of horror icons are at a crappy horror convention, they get offered a bunch of money to scare a bunch of fans at the local park. Easy money for a weekend gig, right? Wrong. When they get there, they meet the woman who runs it, as well as her incredibly well-endowed daughter, Dee Dee, but little do they know that they are not just the stars of the weekend, but the intended victims!”

Schneider and the cast will appear at WonderCon, which takes place March 25-27 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, to promote the release. See our past coverage of the movie here and here, and for more on SMOTHERED, head over to the official website and Facebook page.
