Exclusive video: Director Ben Wheatley talks “SIGHTSEERS”

Vacations are supposed to be occasions to relax, but the two travelers in SIGHTSEERS just can’t stop lashing out in murderous ways. In an exclusive video interview, Fango spoke to director Ben Wheatley about his new, pitch-black comedy.

Opening theatrically in New York and Los Angeles today and available on VOD next Monday, May 13 from IFC Films, SIGHTSEERS counts SHAUN OF THE DEAD’s Edgar Wright among its executive producers, and stars Alice Lowe and Steve Oram (who also wrote the script) as a couple whose tour of rural British tourist spots keeps getting interrupted by annoyances that lead them to violently strike back. In our chat, shot by Vivienne Vaughn, Wheatley (who previously impressed with his horror/crime hybrid KILL LIST) discusses the movie’s balance of humor and horrific moments, his collaboration with Lowe and Oram, what he has coming up and more. You can see our review of SIGHTSEERS here and read more about the movie in Fango #323, on sale now. (Thanks to Bill Hall)
