Exclusive: When will “GRABBERS” grab you?

It has played overseas and at festivals (including New York’s Friars Club Comedy Film Fest last night), and now we’ve got the exclusive word on when the Irish horror/comedy GRABBERS will go into general U.S. release.

Fango has learned that IFC Films will issue GRABBERS  July 19 under the IFC Midnight banner in select theaters and on cable VOD, iTunes, Amazon, Xbox Zune, PlayStation, SundanceNow.com and other digital VOD outlets. That’s getting to be a busy day for genre fare, as Warner Bros. has THE CONJURING and Universal has R.I.P.D. slated for the 19th as well. GRABBERS, directed by Jon Wright from a script by Kevin Lehane, is set on an island off the Irish coast that comes under attack by tentacled alien creatures, and whose residents learn that only through inebriation can they fight back against the invasion. Richard Coyle, Ruth Bradley (pictured above), Russell Tovey, Lalor Roddy, David Pearse and Bronagh Gallagher star; check out the trailer below.
