Fantasia 2014 exclusive: Eerie trailer for “THE MIDNIGHT SWIM”

The full schedule for this year’s Fantasia international film festival in Montreal will be unveiled later this week, and while we await it, we’ve got an exclusive first look at the trailer for one of the very promising indie features being showcased there.

Below you can check out the ominously spooky preview for THE MIDNIGHT SWIM, the feature writing/directing debut of Sarah Adina Smith. It has its world premiere at Fantasia at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 27; here’s the synopsis: “When their mother goes missing in Spirit Lake, three half-sisters travel home to settle her affairs. The middle sister, June, a documentary filmmaker, captures their bittersweet homecoming. But when the sisters jokingly summon a local ghost, their relationship begins to unravel and they find themselves drawn deeper and deeper into the true mystery of the lake.” Lindsey Burdge, Jennifer Lafleur, Aleksa Palladino, Beth Grant and Ross Partridge star; see Fantasia’s official website here.
