First details/body-horror poster: 2015 Ithaca International Fantastic Film Festival

More than 30 frightful features from around the world, past and present, will be showcased at the fourth annual Ithaca International Fantastic Film Festival. Read on for the initial information and striking new poster.

The IIFFF will take place November 11-15 of this year in upstate Ithaca, NY. The promo art seen below, designed by Steve Ellis, highlights the fest’s retrospective series Organic Horror: Obsession With Body Alterations, which will include screenings of Georges Franju’s EYES WITHOUT A FACE, Takashi Miike’s AUDITION and Andrzej Zulawski’s POSSESSION, among others. There will also be a Fantastic Art exhibit highlighting the work of Chet Zar, with a screening of the Zar documentary I LIKE TO PAINT MONSTERS, plus the latest and best genre movies in the documentaries, Midnighters and International Competition sections.

In addition, the IIFFF is sponsoring a short-film competition called Fifteen Minutes, or Less, of Fame: The Adaption Contest. Inspired by Chris Strompolos and Eric Zala’s shot-by-shot tribute RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK: THE ADAPTATION, the fest is inviting fans to restage their favorite scene from any fantastic film. Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries, and all submissions will be shown before a screening of RAIDERS: THE ADAPTATION. The festival is also still seeking feature and short movies (deadline for entries is October 15 for shorts, November 1 for features); for more info, head over to the official website and Facebook page.
