First pic, exclusive casting update and comments: Mike Mendez’s Dolph Lundgren/demon flick “DON’T KILL IT”

Director Mike Mendez is wrapping up a busy year by shooting the Dolph Lundgren-starring supernatural thriller DON’T KILL IT. Production started today, and Mendez released a first photo from the set (seen above), and gave Fango the exclusive scoop on additional cast and the FX team.

DON’T KILL IT, which we first reported on here, was written by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen (whose film BODY was just released; see review here) and stars Lundgren as a demon hunter who teams with an FBI agent to battle a possessive force in a small town. The location of that town has been changed from Alaska to the South, as the flick is rolling in Mississippi, and Mendez tells us, “I’m very excited to be working with Dolph Lundgren, Kristina Klebe [of HALLOWEEN, PROXY, DEMENTIA, opening tomorrow, and Mendez’s upcoming THE LAST HEIST] and Courtney Gains [from CHILDREN OF THE CORN] on a wild blend of action and horror with a dash of comedy. Robert Kurtzman’s Creature Corps is providing the special makeup effects. I’m very happy to be working with producers Scott Martin, Michael Slifkin and Robert Yocum of Archstone Pictures, who are allowing me the opportunity to bring some wild, bloody mayhem to the big screen. I think this is going to be a fun one!” Stay tuned for further updates.
