First Poster: Kurt Russell-starring Cannibal Western “BONE TOMAHAWK”

For the more faithful readers here at FANGORIA, one of the most surreal and anticipated projects as of late has been BONE TOMAHAWK, S. Craig Zahler’s tale of rugged men, savage cannibals and the western landscape in which they inhabit. And while the film has been acquired (via Magnolia) and shot, the film has finally debuted its inaugural poster, setting its all-star cast against a blood-red sun.

Starring Kurt Russell (THE THING), Patrick Wilson (INSIDIOUS), Matthew Fox (WORLD WAR Z), Richard Jenkins (LET ME IN), Lili Simmons (TRUE DETECTIVE), David Arquette (SCREAM), Sid Haig (HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES), Kathryn Morris (MINDHUNTERS), Michael Pare (STREETS OF FIRE), Sean Young (BLADE RUNNER), Evan Jongkeit (X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST) and Jamison Newlander (THE LOST BOYS), this all-star horror-western follows “an outlaw who unknowingly leads a band of cannibalistic Troglodytes into the peaceful western town of Bright Hope. When the monsters kidnap several settlers, including a rancher’s wife, a small rescue party consisting of the injured rancher, the sheriff, his aging deputy and a strong-willed gunslinger, journey into hell to try and rescue them. They soon find themselves in dark unknown territories where savage inbreeds armed with the ultimate weapon leave no hope of survival.”

The film also carries an impressive behind the scenes crew, with BIG ASS SPIDER! cinematographer Benji Bakshi lensing the film while the film is produced by Dallas Sonnier (BAD MILO!), Jack Heller (ENTER NOWHERE) and Amanda Mortimer (PHANTOM HALO), all of whom recently worked on the brutal Stanley Film Fest slasher SOME KIND OF HATE. Keep an eye out for more on BONE TOMAHAWK in the very near future, and you can see the poster below.
