First Trailer: “COOTIES” takes fright fans back to school

After debuting at Sundance 2014, it’s been a long and quiet ride for Cary Murnion and Jonathan Milott’s COOTIES, the horror comedy produced by SpectreVision that pit Elijah Wood, Alison Pill and Rainn Wilson against a horde of child zombies. And while the film has played to excellent reviews at several genre festivals (including the recent Stanley Film Festival screening of the upcoming theatrical cut), there’s been little out there in the horror universe outside of select stills and some terrifying teaser posters… until now!

That’s right, Lionsgate Premiere and SpectreVision have released the first trailer for COOTIES (via Yahoo), and it encapsulates the brutal and mischievous nature of the fright flick perfectly. The film, written by Leigh Whannell and Ian Brennan, is a real audience picture, so while the film hits both screens and VOD on September 18th, do yourself a favor and find a theater that’s playing it; you’ll thank us later. Check out the trailer below, and check back here at FANGORIA.com later for more on COOTIES!
