First Trailer: Mind Control Horror, “THE BANSHEE CHAPTER”

A found footage exploration into the horrors of mind control past begins when a journalist’s friend takes government drugs in the present.

THE BANSHEE CHAPTER finds young journalist Anne Roland (Katia Winter) follow the mysterious trail of a missing friend (Michael McMillian) that had been experimenting with mind-altering chemicals developed in secret government drug tests. Ted Levine plays the role of a rogue counter-culture novelist with a penchant for substance abuse and firearms who leads the journalist into the mystery of dangerous chemical research. A fast-paced blend of fact and fiction, the film is based on real documents, actual test subject testimony, and uncovered secrets about covert programs run by the CIA.

Is something like MKUltra and chilling widespread government experiments with behavioral engineering, the basis here? Does that give THE BANSHEE CHAPTER the potential to be something scarier than running around an empty facility with a handheld camera?

Directed by Blair Erickson and produced by Zachary Quinto, THE BANSHEE CHAPTER will hit VOD this December, with a limited theatrical release planned for January.
