Believe it or not, among the nightmarish visions and treacherous illusions infesting the FANGORIA archive, there’s something magical about the preservation of such rich genre history. Be it rare pictures of men in monstrous suits or true genre artists on the set of their passion project, discovering gems of scare fare past is inherently exciting and all the more nostalgic. And with a recent find in the FANGORIA archive, this writer has uncovered some gorgeous stills and behind-the-scenes shots of Clive Barker’s fantastic and immersive monster odyssey, NIGHTBREED.

A stark contrast from his moody and intimate HELLRAISER, NIGHTBREED is a creepy, hypnotic film about the secret world of monsters among men, populated with sympathetic and incredibly realized creatures. Featuring incredible performances across the board and top notch SFX from Bob Keen and co., NIGHTBREED is also arguably Barker’s most personal work, which makes the post-production trouble all the more tragic.

However, with Scream Factory bringing the Director’s Cut to Blu-ray soon, the rediscovery of NIGHTBREED will hopefully soldier on into future generations. Without further ado, you can check out the shots of NIGHTBREED from the FANGORIA archive below!
