Goblin to provide live accompaniment for “SUSPIRIA” in Austin this October!

The Housecore Horror Film Festival, an upcoming Texas celebration of metal and the macabre created by iconic Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo will meld the two with a live performance from Italian prog-rockers Goblin, playing their full SUSPIRIA score as the film screens.

Taking place over three days this October 25-27 at the famous Emo’s in Austin, TX, Housecore is hosting 35mm screenings of classics like THE EVIL DEAD, THE BEYOND, ZOMBIE and MANIAC, beloved underground titles like NEKROMANTIK 1 & 2 (with Jörg Buttgereit in attendance!) and THE MANSON FAMILY (Jim Vanbebber also attending!) and a special look at Coffin Joe with with AT MIDNIGHT I’LL TAKE YOUR SOUL and THIS NIGHT I’LL POSSESS YOUR CORPSE. It also boasts a killer lineup of bands with Anselmo’s Down, Eyehategod, Warbeast and more.

Now, Goblin joins the festivities with a special experience they’ve only previously done in Australia (see our review of that night here). Maurizio Guarini, of the band, says “We are beyond excited to bring the sounds of Goblin and SUSPIRIA to the United States for the very first time! And to be able to perform the score before a live audience while they watch Dario Argento’s masterpiece on the big screen is incredible. We are thrilled that Philip Anselmo has asked us to come perform at the Housecore Horror Film Festival. It will certainly be an event for everyone to remember.”
