Here comes the fuzz: “WOLFCOP” gets U.S. distribution

Howling its way from Canada, where it just played Montreal’s Fantasia festival, the horror/action/comedy WOLFCOP is now slated to bring the hairy arm of the law to U.S. audiences.

Image Entertainment has announced that it has picked up all Stateside rights to WOLFCOP, with specific release plans to be announced. Lowell Dean wrote and directed the film, and according to the official synopsis, “WOLFCOP follows Lou Garou [Leo Fafard], an alcoholic cop who tends to black out and wake up in unfamiliar surroundings. However, lately things have taken a strange turn. Crime scenes seem oddly familiar; Lou’s senses are heightened; and when the full moon is out, he’s a rage-fueled werewolf. WOLFCOP is one cop’s quest to become a better man…one transformation at a time.” The cast also includes Amy Matysio, Aidan Devine, Jesse Moss, Sarah Lind, Jonathan Cherry and Corrine Conley, with makeup FX by Emersen Ziffle. “We are so thrilled to release this title and unleash the fuzz on audiences,” says Image’s Mark Ward. “It’s a hilarious sendup of different genres that will take audiences on a wild trip.” Stay tuned for further details, and see our review of WOLFCOP here.
