“HIGH ON THE HOG” actress Fiona Domenica talks her true terror tale

For some people, home is where the heart is, but for others, it can be where the horror is. Speaking exclusively to FANGORIA, actress Fiona Domenica (who discussed her role in the upcoming Sid Haig-starrer HIGH ON THE HOG here) opened up about her next film, A PRAYS ELLEPSIS, a self-penned story that draws inspiration from a real-life nightmare.

“I can’t say too much, but basically, I encountered a crazy woman living in the apartment below me,” Domenica tell us. “My script seems to be creating a lot of buzz.” Though Domenica is taking the reins of scripting her own scary experience, she’s currently in talks with horror-friendly directors to take the helm so she can focus on reliving the terrifying ordeal in front of the camera.

Domenica, a self-described horror fanatic, hopes her script will do justice to the psychological side of the genre. “I’m very much into the older films,” she says, “such as THE EXORCIST, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, CARRIE, DON’T LOOK NOW and THE SHINING, which have all inspired me in writing my own script and developing a movie that will scare the bejeezus out of me, let alone an audience. The challenge lies in creating something different that the audience hasn’t seen before, and that is my intent.”

Domenica plans for this autobiographical fright flick to be her next project, while she currently wraps production on a science-fiction drama called BETA, directed by Layton Matthews. She is also working on a series of screenings for inner-city children with BAFTA Los Angeles, and awaiting the release of STARSHIP: RISING, a sci-Fi project from director Neil Johnson.
