Hudson Horror 35mm show ready to roll this weekend in NY

New York horror fans devoted to the horrific 35mm film experience in an increasingly digital world will want to head up to Poughkeepsie, NY’s Hudson Horror Show VII this Saturday for 12 hours of big-screen thrills from directors Sam Raimi, Tobe Hooper and Lucio Fulci, among others.

A truly eclectic collection of genre features is on tap for the show (presented in association with Grindhouse Releasing), which takes place at the Silver Cinemas at the South Hills Mall (1895 South Road). Doors open at noon, and the lineup consists of a 20th-anniversary screening of Raimi’s medieval classic ARMY OF DARKNESS, Hooper’s satirical sequel THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2, Fulci’s gorefest THE HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY, Hua Shan’s insane monster mash INFRA-MAN (courtesy of The B-Movie Film Vault) and Duke Mitchell’s crime oddity GONE WITH THE POPE. There will also be trailer reels, prize giveaways and vendors; tickets are $26 in advance via the official website and $30 at the door.
