The latest film from one-of-a-kind Spanish director Álex de la Iglesia (DAY OF THE BEAST, THE LAST CIRCUS) is high energy horror comedy WITCHING & BITCHING. A silly, manic tale of witchcraft and the battle of the sexes, the movie previously hit North America when it closed the Toronto International Film Festival’s Midnight Madness and made its U.S. debut at Austin’s Fantastic Fest. Now, it will find its way to general audiences courtesy of IFC Midnight in 2014.

Variety reports that IFC will give WITCHING & BITCHING the now standard limited theatrical release and VOD debut next year. The film finds common thieves taken in and held hostage by a family of witches preparing for a significant ritual. Supernatural hijinks and many biting words about each other’s gender are spewed in this breathless, incredibly fun yarn. Carmen Maura, Carolina Bang, Macarena Gomez, Hugo Silva and Mario Casas star.
