James Wan producing new horror film from “LESBIAN VAMPIRE KILLERS” director

New Line, Rick Alvarez and THE CONJURING director James Wan are producing the third feature from Phil Claydon, who received a fair amount of praise for horror/comedy LESBIAN VAMPIRE KILLERS in 2009/10.

Scripted by Gary Dauberman and titled, as so many before it, CRAWLSPACE, the picture aims to begin familiarly when a family moves into a new home and is assaulted by weird happenings. The setup leads to a twist that will apparently see the rug “pulled from under both the family and the audience.”

Outside of SAW sequels which bore his name, this is to be the second horror film produced by Wan. The first, DEMONIC, stars Maria Bello and Frank Grillo and concerns the massacre of a group of college kids for which the house they were trying to attract paranormal phenomena in is blamed. That film comes from Dimension. [THR]
