Jason Blum/Leonardo DiCaprio’s “HOME” gets title change, release strategyMovies/TV,News Michael Gingold
With Eli Roth’s THE GREEN INFERNO set to open next Friday under a new release pattern established by Blumhouse Productions’ Jason Blum (pictured above), the second film to go out that way has been named—and renamed.
Variety reports that HOME, whose producers include Blum and Leonardo DeCaprio, will open under the recently formed BH Tilt banner under the new moniker DELIRIUM, on a date to be determined. Director Dennis Iliadis and screenwriter Adam Alleca reteamed from the LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT remake for the movie, which stars Topher Grace, Patricia Clarkson and Genesis Rodriguez in the story of a man who inherits a haunted house after being released from a mental institution; veteran artist Gary J. Tunnicliffe created the makeup FX. The BH Tilt model involves a theatrical release in about 1,500 theaters (smaller than the usual wide break) with targeted, largely digital publicity and marketing aimed squarely at genre fans. “We’re trying to take advantage of the continuing evolution of marketing and distribution options within the horror genre,” BH Tilt’s John Hegeman tells the trade. “Horror fans are an active community, which makes it easier to find them, reach them and engage them.”
