Jessica Chastain joins Guillermo del Toro’s “PEAK”

The star of MAMA is now poised to come aboard the upcoming horror film to be directed by that movie’s executive producer.

Variety reports that Jessica Chastain is in final talks to co-star in CRIMSON PEAK, the haunted-house chiller Guillermo del Toro will begin shooting next February for Legendary Pictures. This announcement comes just a day after the news that Benedict Cumberbatch joined the cast, which also includes Emma Stone and Charlie Hunnam. PEAK will mark a reunion for two-time Academy Award nominee Chastain and del Toro, a prime mover behind MAMA (pictured above), which was a hit earlier this year. The details of CRIMSON PEAK’s script, currently being rewritten by del Toro and Lucinda Coxon from an earlier draft by the director and Matthew Robbins, are being kept secret as of now.
