Joe Lynch’s Bloody “EVERLY” Trailers Up, Dresses DownMovies/TV,News Ken W. Hanley
After very publicly disavowing his producer-edited last film, KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM, I know that many fright fans have been anticipating the genuine return of WRONG TURN 2 director Joe Lynch to the feature-length genre fray. And while they might need to wait a little longer before Lynch comes back to straight-up horror, fans won’t have to wait long at all to see Lynch’s new film, EVERLY, which has officially dropped its first U.S. trailer.
Although the international trailer has made its debut some weeks ago, Radius-TWC has released the U.S. trailer right in time for the film’s debut on “Ultra-VOD” this week, and luckily, the film looks like as fun as its premise promises. Touted by Lynch as “DIE HARD in a room,” EVERLY sees its title character, played by a scantily clad and respectably badass Salma Hayek, facing off against a seemingly endless roster of assassins in her apartment after being betrayed by her lover.
Co-starring fright favorite Jennifer Blanc, EVERLY may not be horror proper, but chances are, with Lynch behind the camera, the film might be a bit more gory than your standard action fare. Check out the trailer below, and if EVERLY has you dead to rights, you can check out the film on “Ultra-VOD” on Friday, January 23rd, as well as in limited theaters on February 27th.
