LA! Secret Sixteen and FANGORIA Present a Free Screening of “DARKMAN” This Weekend!

The Jumpcut Cafe (13203 Ventura Blvd), our unofficial hang out in LA, is hosting yet another free screening in conjunction with FANGORIA and the very neat ongoing Secret Sixteen series. This weekend’s not so secret however, as we’ll be unspooling a 16MM print of Sam Raimi’s splendid DARKMAN, featuring a lead performance by Liam Neeson(s) that Key & Peele correctly believe deserved an Oscar.

Prior to its Winter 2014 debut on Blu-ray (from Scream Factory), Los Angeles residents can catch a rare print of the tale of Dr. Peyton Westlake this Sunday, November 24  at 7 p.m. In DARKMAN, Westlake is on the verge of realizing a major breakthrough in the creation of synthetic skin when his laboratory is blown up by gangsters. Having been burned beyond recognition and forever altered by an experimental medical procedure, Westlake becomes known as Darkman, assuming alternate identities in his quest for revenge and a new life with his former love (McDormand).

Now, as stated before, Jumpcut is a fairly intimate venue with some tasty choices. So to guarantee a seat, show up early and eat!
