Larry Fessenden & Graham Reznick’s “UNTIL DAWN” Video Game Announces Release Date, CastBooks/Art/Culture,News Ken W. Hanley
While survival horror has long dominated the video game landscape, not many horror games have been able to capture the essence of genre cinema, instead wielding in splattery combat or repetitive puzzle challenges. And the horror games that have come close, such as the WALKING DEAD episodes vial Telltale, don’t necessarily carry the realistic graphics or scope that the titans of survival horror emphatically showcase. However, it seems that there’s one horror video game hitting Playstation 4 later this year that looks like the closest thing to an interactive horror film to date, and it’s not much surprise that it comes from the twisted minds of Glass Eye Pix’s Larry Fessenden and Graham Reznick: UNTIL DAWN!
Featuring the likenesses and performances of Hayden Panettiere (SCREAM 4), Peter Stormare (THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK), Brett Dalton (MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.), Rami Malek (DA SWEET BLOOD OF JESUS), Meaghan Martin (REVENGE), Nichole Bloom (TEEN WOLF), Galadriel Stineman (BONES), Noah Fleiss (BRICK) and Fessenden himself, UNTIL DAWN follows eight friends as they try to survive the night in an isolated mountain lodge where nothing is as it seems. Almost in a “choose your own adventure” pattern, the player experiences the night from their character’s unique point of view, and the decisions made will influence who lives and who dies. UNTIL DAWN, developed by Supermassive Games, takes advantage of the evolved Killzone Shadowfall engine, which provides top tier graphics and customized gameplay, with the DualShock 4 motion sensor tracking your character’s movements (or lack thereof).
Players carve their path to survival with branching story lines which mean that no two stories will be the same, which will give the film extra replay value when it hits exclusively for Playstation 4 on August 25th, 2015. And with the clock ticking down to the game’s release, you can expect more on UNTIL DAWN here at FANGORIA.com sooner rather than later. In the mean time, you can check out the teaser for the game below!
