“MAGGIE” makes dates for disc and digital; details and art

It’s a highly recommended current theatrical release, but now the Arnold Schwarzenegger-starring MAGGIE (see our review here) has been announced for home formats. Read on for the full details and Blu-ray art.

Lionsgate Home Entertainment will release MAGGIE to digital HD June 30 and on Blu-ray and DVD (both with digital copies) July 7. Schwarzenegger plays a farmer whose eponymous teenage daughter (an excellent Abigail Breslin) becomes infected with a zombie virus that is sweeping the country. While he tries to protect her from those seeking to do her harm, Maggie must deal with the inevitability of her deterioration. On the discs, the movie will be presented in 16×9-enhanced 2.40:1 widescreen (1080p HD on the Blu-ray), with the following extras:

• Audio commentary by director Henry Hobson
• “Making MAGGIE” featurette
• Deleted scene
• Cast and crew interviews

Retail prices are $19.99 for the Blu-ray, $19.98 for the DVD. Breslin discusses the movie here and words with Hobson can be seen here.
