New posters introduce characters behind “THE WORLD’S END”

Character posters are typically bland, but these new looks at Edgar Wright’s THE WORLD’S END manage to provide an insight into each character via descriptions that sound much like pubs they’re visiting. It’s a fun way around the typically lame approach. Also, we’re just very excited for this film.

The Famous Cock, The Trusty Servant (two of the actual pubs in THE WORLD’S END), The King’s Arms, The Pickled Newt, The Lion Heart and The Total Intrepid Fox match the main killer cast in this tale of friends returning home to a changed town, now full of alien robots. The movie not only looks like another great collaboration between Wright, Pegg and Frost, but a proper progression of their heart-filled genre comedies focused on maturation, or lack thereof.

Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Martin Freeman, Eddie Marsan, Paddy Considine and Rosamund Pike star. THE WORLD’S END is out August 23. [Empire]
