New trailer, release news for horror anthology “HOLIDAYS”

The festivities are fearsome in HOLIDAYS, the omnibus chiller recently annouced to premiere at next month’s Tribeca Film Festival, and has now been set for general release with a new trailer to view.

Vertical Entertainment and XYZ Films are teaming up on distribution of HOLIDAYS, which will see worldwide VOD/digital-platform release April 15 (the day after the movie’s Tribeca debut) and then receive targeted U.S. theatrical play April 22. The movie puts horrific spins on a number of beloved holidays and their associate folklore, courtesy of the following filmmakers:

• STARRY EYES’ Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch (Valentine’s Day)
• DRACULA UNTOLD’s Gary Shore (St. Patrick’s Day)
• AT THE DEVIL’S DOOR’s Nicholas McCarthy (Easter)
• THE MIDNIGHT SWIM’s Sarah Adina Smith (Mother’s Day)
• DARKNET’s Anthony Scott Burns (Father’s Day)
• DARK SKIES’ Scott Stewart (Christmas, featuring Seth Green, pictured above)
• TUSK’s Kevin Smith (Halloween)
• SOME KIND OF HATE’s Adam Egypt Mortimer (New Year’s Eve)

“This has been a project that we’ve been excited about since it was announced in production,” says Vertical’s Rich Goldberg. “With the expansive list of amazing filmmakers, their unique take on the horror anthology genre, and in addition to the recent Tribeca premiere announcement we found ourselves with an amazing opportunity to get involved on a global basis. We have an extremely tight window to get the film out to audiences in April, but we have a dedicated team here at Vertical as well as with our partners XYZ and Distant Corners, what I believe will be the first film available globally immediately after its festival premiere.”
