NY! 35mm Carpenter classics and cult faves at Hudson Horror next month

New York-area fright fans looking for a post-Halloween treat will want to head up to the eighth Hudson Horror Show 12-hour festival of 35mm horror features, including two beloved collaborations between John Carpenter and Kurt Russell.

Taking place Saturday, November 16 at Poughkeepsie, NY’s Silver Cinemas South Hills 8 (1895 South Road), Hudson Horror Show 8 will be highlighted by the rare opportunity to catch Carpenter’s ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK and THE THING, with Russell battling dystopian Manhattanites and Rob Bottin creatures, back to back on the big screen, on film. Also on the bill are Denis Sanders’ sexy sci-fier INVASION OF THE BEE GIRLS, starring exploitation icon William Smith with a script by STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN’s Nicholas Meyer; HORROR EXPRESS, Eugenio Martín’s blood-chilling trainbound creature feature with Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing and Telly Savalas; and a fifth mystery movie to be revealed only when it begins.

There will also be trailer reels, giveaways and a vendor room; doors open at noon, and the program starts at 1 p.m. The last Hudson Horror Show sold out and tickets for this one are selling fast, so pre-order them at the official website for $26; any tickets remaining on the day of the show will be available for $30 (cash only) at the door.
