NY! Catch “CANDYMAN” in 35mm at Alamo Drafthouse this weekend with Fango’s Michael Gingold!

One of the greatest fright films and horror heroes of the ’90s return to the big screen as the latest FANGORIA-hosted presentation at the New York-area Alamo Drafthouse Cinema this weekend.

This Saturday, October 11 at 10 p.m., the Alamo Drafthouse Yonkers, just north of Manhattan (2548 Central Park Avenue, Yonkers, NY) will present a 35mm print of 1992’s masterful Clive Barker adaptation CANDYMAN, introduced by Fango’s Michael Gingold. Written and directed by Bernard Rose based on Barker’s BOOKS OF BLOOD tale “The Forbidden,” the movie made a genre star out of Tony Todd, playing a malevolent, hook-handed phantom who emerges from his netherworld when a graduate student (Virginia Madsen at her best) casts doubts upon his existence. Come and enjoy the film’s rich atmosphere, graphic frights and eerie Philip Glass score on the big screen!
