NY! Go to “PIECES” with 35mm screening at Alamo Drafthouse with Fango’s Michael Gingold

If you’re in the New York area, you don’t have to go to Texas for a chainsaw massacre; just head up to the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema later this month and join FANGORIA for a special showing of PIECES!

A 35mm print of Juan Piquer Simon’s bloody crazy cult favorite will screen at the Drafthouse (2548 Central Park Avenue, Yonkers, NY) on Thursday, April 28 at 9 p.m., hosted by Fango editor Michael Gingold. The 1983 release has become beloved by fright fans for the extreme gore shed by a psycho wielding a chainsaw against Boston college coeds, seeking to assemble their parts into a human jigsaw puzzle, and for its way-over-the-top dialogue and performances. The cast is a grab bag of international B-thesps including Christopher and Linda Day George, Paul L. Smith, Edmond Purdom, Jack Taylor and others, and the result is a movie that plays best with a crowd who can appreciate its many excesses.
