NY! Join Fango’s Michael Gingold for 35mm “PRINCE OF DARKNESS” screening at Alamo Drafthouse!

The long-running Prints of Darkness series at the New York-area Alamo Drafthouse Cinema hosts its namesake John Carpenter classic on the big screen this month!

Carpenter’s 1987 film PRINCE OF DARKNESS will screen on 35mm at the Drafthouse (2548 Central Park Avenue, Yonkers, NY) on Friday, January 22 at 9 p.m., hosted by Fango editor Michael Gingold. The director enlisted HALLOWEEN and ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK veteran Donald Pleasence and BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA’s Victor Wong and Dennis Dun to star in this creepy saga of a priest, a professor and the latter’s students investigating satanic evil emanating from the basement of a derelict church. The terror (which includes Alice Cooper leading a gang of menacing street people) builds from there, and Carpenter’s dread-inducing widescreen imagery and equally eerie score make this a must in a theatrical setting.
