NY! Meet “SNOWPIERCER” Director Bong Joon-ho at the Jacob Burns Film Center this March!

Any horror hound worth their weight in fandom knows that one of the top contributors to chilling cinema in the world is South Korea. Bringing to the fray directors such as Park Chan-wook and Kim Ji-woon, horror filmmaking has become a mastered craft in South Korea, especially so when the lines of genre become blurred. And luckily for NY-based fright fans, you’ll get a chance to meet one of the strongest Korean genre filmmakers of them all, as SNOWPIERCER director Bong Joon-ho will be making his way to the Big Apple for a retrospective series at the Jacob Burns Film Center!

Starting March 19th and running until April 2nd, Bong Joon-ho will be in attendance for a four-screening series, which includes 2003’s MEMORIES OF MURDER, 2006’s THE HOST, 2009’s MOTHER and 2013’s SNOWPIERCER., and will be doing a Q&A at each. In addition, a special reception for the director will be held at the MEMORIES OF MURDER screening. While the Jacob Burns Film Center is usually a great source of cinema, this series is will be something to look out for, especially considering Joon-ho rarely makes appearances in the U.S.
