NY! See “THE HITCHER” in 35mm at Alamo Drafthouse next month, with Fango’s Michael Gingold!

One of horror cinema’s most chilling cautionary tales drives back onto the big screen in March at the New York-area Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, with FANGORIA hosting the show!

In 1987, THE HITCHER taught us why we should never pick up a hitchhiker, and that lesson will be relearned as the movie screens in 35mm on Friday, March 20 at 10 p.m. at the Alamo Drafthouse Yonkers, just north of Manhattan (2548 Central Park Avenue, Yonkers, NY), introduced by Fango’s Michael Gingold. The knockout feature debut of director Robert Harmon and screenwriter Eric Red, THE HITCHER showcases one of Rutger Hauer’s greatest performances as the mysterious John Ryder, who terrorizes young motorist C. Thomas Howell across the American Southwest, with Jennifer Jason Leigh as a waitress who tries (at her peril) to help. Beautifully shot by John Seale and chillingly scored by Mark Isham, the film is a must on the big screen, so come check it out! For more info on the showing and to order tickets, click here.
