NYCC ’15 Video Q&A: Jill Marie Jones talks “ASH VS. EVIL DEAD”; Second Season Confirmed!

When you hear a title like ASH VS. EVIL DEAD, any fright fan can tell you that fighting deadites can get too messy for one man (or several, for that matter). Hell, it’s even a given that the highly anticipated Starz series will feature Deadite-fighters who don’t even have the benefit of the one-armed lothario on their side. In fact, one of the first people fans will see battle the EVIL DEAD is Amanda Fisher, a badass detective who learns first hand just how dangerous the deadites can be. Luckily, Starz enlisted in the versatile and talented Jill Marie Jones to bring Fisher to life, and at the 2015 New York Comic Con, FANGORIA caught up with Jones to talk ASH VS. EVIL DEAD…

Furthermore, as of this writing, Deadline has broken that Starz has already greenlit ASH VS. EVIL DEAD for a second season of at least another 10 episodes, citing press and fan reactions and international broadcaster demand. Bruce Campbell and Lucy Lawless are so far confirmed to return, as well as producers Sam Raimi, Robert Tapert, and showrunner Craig DiGregorio; no word on the return of franchise newcomers Jones, Ray Santiago and Dana DeLorenzo, but stay tuned for more as the news hits!

ASH VS. EVIL DEAD premieres on Starz next Saturday, October 31st, at 9:00 p.m. EST; horror hounds with Starz Play & Starz On Demand can catch it starting 12:00 a.m. on October 31st. Starz is also showing EVIL DEAD (1981), EVIL DEAD II and ARMY OF DARKNESS back-to-back beginning at 8:00 p.m. EST on Friday, October 30th, leading up to a sneak preview of the series’ pilot. Stay tuned here at FANGORIA.com for on New York Comic Con and ASH VS. EVIL DEAD!
