Phoenix Horror & Sci-fi Film Festival Full Line-up Announced

For Arizona-bound horror fans, the 10th annual Phoenix International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival begins this week and their recently announced full horror lineup looks like a dream team of fright flicks, including festival favorites and a highly anticipated premiere!

That’s right: The Phoenix International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival will have the U.S. premiere of Marcus Nispel’s EXETER, in which a group of teenagers accidentally release an evil spirit that starts to possess each of them, one by one. Another highlight will be the showing of David Gregory’s LOST SOUL: THE DOOMED JOURNEY OF RICHARD STANLEY’S ISLAND OF DR. MOREAU, the behind the scenes documentary (chronicled in FANGORIA #340) that tells how a clash of vision, bad creative decisions, lack of interest and really bad weather plagued the disastrous production of the infamous 1996 remake of THE ISLAND OF DOCTOR MOREAU. Also appearing at the fest is Jason Lei Howden’s DEATHGASM, the Astron-6 fave THE EDITOR, the revenge thriller JULIA and the bizarre KUMIKO THE TREASURE HUNTER.

The 10th Annual International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival is part of the 15th Annual Phoenix Film Festival, which occurs this year from Thursday, March 26th to Thursday, April 2nd. Tickets and passes are on sale now and available through the Phoenix Film Festival website. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the Phoenix Film Festival Ticket Center next to the Harkins Scottsdale 101 Theatre, and range in price from $13 for a single screening to $300 for a platinum pass.  For more information call 602-955-6444, or visit the website above.
